We are looking for good ideas for how we can improve the usefulness and organization of our data websites and tools, in particular data.worldbank.org and databank.worldbank.org. If you have a great idea, use this forum to let us and others know!

How can we improve the usability of the data website (data.worldbank.org) or Databank (databank.worldbank.org)?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Fix JSONP prefix capitalization bug.

    it has come to my attention that your website when you define a callback with a capital letter after the "prefix" parameter the API is failing to return the callback name requested, and is instead returning it in all lowercase. Here is a description of the bug.

  2. Sort data catalog by development or operations

    The World Bank often describes its open data program as "data about what we know" and "data about what we do." In other words, development/research data and operations data. I think it would be helpful if the data catalog was organized this way, so that users interested in just one kind of data can filter out the other kind. Can there be two "Refine By" categories on the left side for "Data about what we know" and "Data about what we do?"
